We had a great time making bike flags and decorating helmets.  Instead of people making flags for themselves, we decided to just pitch in and make a pile of them.  Fabric collections were liberated, garments were shredded, fine satins and laces and chintzes and furs—  well, only one fur—  were put on poles and decorated.
