We are building a trail for multimodal transportation

Basically non-motorized, but open to the disabled

We will connect significant places in Troy to neighboring communities:

  • Schools
  • Parks
  • Historic places
  • Cultural sites
  • Transportation hubs

The trail will have economic benefit by:

  • Encouraging commercial and real estate development alongside it:
  • Easing commutes in and beyond Troy
  • Providing access to recreation
  • Reducing our dependency on buses for school transportation

We will use the trail to advocate for parallel development of:

  • Light rail in Troy
  • Boat rentals, docking, and classes on the Hudson
  • Bike rentals
  • Amenities for travelers
  • Access to busses, taxis, shopping

This project will be the basis for or included in Troy’s planning for:

  • Complete Streets
  • Safe Routes to Schools
  • Recreation
  • Economic Development

Our goals are to:

  • Boost tourism and relocation to Troy by developing community assets
  • Build up Troy’s quality of life and enjoyment
  • Encourage significant artistic, architectural and viewscape development
  • Make the trail a cultural site in itself, firmly centered in Troy life
  • Ensure maintenance and continued development of the trail by addressing the needs and    desires of all Trojans, no matter their age or social, economic, or cultural background
